Little Worshipper, Little Helper and a Growing Vocabulary

I love watching Garrett in church.  Most of the time we have to take him out due to his inability to keep quiet.  But he loves the music.  He will clap his hands and even raise them praising the Lord.  Last Sunday we had to stay home from church so we were watching Gardendale First Baptist on TV.  He laid in the floor watching the praise and worship portion and listening to the music.  Then all of a sudden he stood up and raised his hand.  When the music was over, he clapped and raised his hand again.  This touched my heart so much.  He may not fully understand but it thrills my heart watching him "learn" and I can't wait for the day when he understands and makes that personal choice to worship our Lord and Savior.  And I know he will.

Garrett is also becoming quite the "Little Helper".  He loves playing with the broom and sweeping the kitchen floor.  This morning I was sitting on the couch folding his clothes.  Usually when there are clothes on the couch, he will grab a piece or 2 and carry it around the house.  Today, I folded his clothes and had them in 3 stacks.  I carried 2 stacks to his room to put away.  As I made my way back to the living room, he met me halfway holding the 3rd stack (still folded) in both hands and handed it to me.  It was so sweet.  Of course he had to clap for himself that he had done a good job.  :)

I love hearing Garrett's vocabulary grow.  His jibberish is so cute but there are times when he is really telling us something and we just wish we knew what was going on inside that cute "little" head.  But aside from his first words "Mama" and Da-Da" he now says "shoe", "uh-oh", "da-chu" (thank you), "nuts", "hot", and as of last night, "wow".
